Ollie

1. To Ollie place your back foot on the edge of the tail, not letting it hang off though. 2. Then put your front foot in the middle of the board. 3. Then pop your back foot up and slide your front foot forward in a quick motion. 4. Keep your front foot going forward until it gets to the nose. 5. Let your front foot reach the end of the tail and stop it then shift your weight to the front of the board. 6. Level your weight out and you should be in the air. 7. Land it just anyway you can. Hint Also try this: Start with your back foot on the tail edge, then put your front foot a little bit in front of your back screws (2 cm). Then gradually move your front foot to the middle of the board. Here's some more help: 1. If you can, get the LIGHTEST BOARD POSSIBLE this is important. 2. Find a place were your board WOULDN'T slide around like Mom's carpet, grass, or gravel, I prefer Grass. 3. Place your left foot in the middle of the Board with your heel hanging off the side make sure your toe is about an inch from the edge, then place your Right foot on the Tail any were that feels right. (If your not goofy foot, if you are then switch the feet around) 4. THE HARD PART snap the tail down Fairly hard with your Right foot until your get good, But Focus on your LEFT foot tilt your left foot so that the side part of your shoe scrapes on the grip tape then slide it up to your nose bolts (the screws at the front of the board). End Statement: If you still can't get it practice more or ask a friend to show you. More help to Ollie Higher First try to Ollie in one spot, doing this on a rug is easier. 1. If your regular foot put your right foot all the way back on the tail. There should be no board left behind your foot. 2. Place your front foot in the middle of the board. This will make it easier to Ollie. 3. Then you want to jump, pop the tail, slide your front foot up the board, and suck up your knees as high as you can. You won't really need to jump real high just suck your knees up to your chest as hard as you can. It will work eventually.

KICKFLIP

1. When you Ollie you would normally just kick your front foot out to the tip of the board and stop. Well on a kickflip you do an Ollie but instead of just kicking to the nose you kick off the board and to the side a little bit. 2. You just do an Ollie, but your front foot keeps on sliding to the nose of the board and off. 3. When your foot gets to the tip of the board kick it off to the nose and the side*. 4. *If you are goofy footed your right foot would go off the right side of the board. If you are regular footed, your left foot would go off the left side of the board. 5. When the board is spinning try to stay above the board. Then land on it. 6. Try starting with your back foot on the far tail, and your front foot on the back screws, get the spin down, then move your front foot closer to the nose. Another Tip: When doing the kickflip try bringing your foot close, but not all the way to nose, and then spinning it. It helps some people that can't Ollie extremely high, to pull off a nice spin.

NOSESLIDE

1. To do a noseslide you are going to have to get your nose of your board onto anything that you are going to slide across. 2. First practice ollieing 90 degrees, and landing on your nose on something low, like the curb of a sidewalk. 3. When you are ollieing that 90 degrees shift your weight to the front of your board, and push your nose on to the object you are sliding. 4. Try to keep our weight on the nose of your board. 5. When you want to get off of what you are sliding then just do another 90 degree Ollie off of what you are sliding. 6. (Try these out on curbs or anything else that is low, and just try to land on the ledge with your nose, before you start to try to noseslide.) 8. These look better when you do a 90 degree Ollie onto the object you are ollieing onto, you can also just throw your nose up onto what ever you are going to slide, but learn how to Ollie onto the object.

50-50 GRIND

1. First you have to know how to do shifty ollies to do a 50-50 grind. 2. Look for a ledge to Ollie up on to (start with ledges then move on to rails) 3. Get speed and come up next to the ledge. 4. When your next to the ledge Ollie up onto it, but do not land totally on the ledge. Land with half of your trucks on the ledge and half off. 5. Try to balance your weight out, and bend your knees to get lots of balance. 6. Stay as balanced as you can while you grind across the ledge. 7. As you see the edge of the ledge do a manual a little bit before the end to get your front truck in the air. 8. When your get to the edge of the ledge keep your front truck in the air and just let your board and yourself go to the ground. 9. During the drop off of the edge try to stay above your board. 10. When you land try to land over your trucks and then ride away. 11. Hint - Try to just 50-50 stall on curbs and pop them off, then try to grind.

50-50 CASPER

1. Roll Fakie at a slow pace (Once you get good at this trick it can be done faster) 2. Do a light kickflip so the board only flips half-way. 3. Catch the griptape side of the board on top of your front toe. 4. Push the bottom of the tail with your back foot, so it hits the ground gently. 5. Scoop the board upwards until it does a full back flip (jump with your back foot) 6. Spread your legs in the air as if you were doing a high kickflip then land. 7. Skate away knowing you did a awesome trick. Power Slide out to get back reg. 8. (note-Your feet should not touch the ground the whole time you are doing the trick)

SEX CHANGE

You need to be able to do pop shuv its and f/s 180's or f/s 180 body varials 1. First put your feet like your'e going to do a pop shuv-it. 2. Turn your upper body f/s and do a pop shuv-it. 3. When your board pops and spins spin your body like a frontside 180. 4. Keep your eyes on your board and catch it when you both finish spinning and meet. 5. Land with your knees bent and roll away NOTE- Your body and board must spin in opposite directions! This is like a step up tip to doing a big spin (which is a 360 shuv-it or varial with an opposite body varial)

BACKSIDE 180 KICKFLIP

1. First learn backside 180's and be able to get them smoothly every time. 2. Place your feet in kickflip position, but your front foot slanted a little towards the nose. 3. Just do a backside 180,but kick your front foot off the nose to make it flip. 4. Turn backside, and catch the board on your feet halfway in the turn. 5. Rotate the other half, and ride away clean.

BACKSIDE BLUNTSIDE

1. Start at a moderate speed with your feet in kickflip position* *but have you foot on the toe edge of the board at a 45 degree angle) 2. Pop an Ollie but dont level out 3. When you land on ledge, bend your knees or your board will fly towards you. 4. To get of pop about a 90 degree Ollie of and bend your knees or you will fall off.

CROOKED GRIND

1. First off you should learn backside 50-50's for a little background knowledge on grinding backside. 2. Roll up to the ledge backside as if you were going to land 50-50. 3. Have your feet in a position as if you were about to f/s 180. 4. Pop up over the ledge. Remember if this trick is going to work you will have to be able to pop easily up over the ledge. 5. Stay light on your feetand push down on your nose. land on the ledge in crooked grind position and think about staying over the ledge and pushing slightly forward with your front foot. BE LIGHT ON YOUR FEET. 6. Try listening to some music that gives you a lot of energy and makes you want to go skate or hum the tune to your favorite skate video part. 7. Always remember that skateing is 90% mental and 10% physical. Be in the right frame of mind or you will go nowhere. "I believe in the power of your mind, use your mind to skate." -Bob Burnquist(411 #16, Rookies) 8.Try doing swich shove-its out or landing fakie.

360 SHUVIT

1. First be able to do switch shuv its really well so that you can land it almost all the time. 2. Ok now ride at a moderate speed don't Ollie unless you have a high one. Your front foot should be positioned in the middle of the board and your back foot on the middle of the nose. Pop a little Ollie then push your back foot really hard. The board should land 360. 3. Lean forward a little because the board might still be spinning.

OLLIE IMPOSSIBLE

1. Ride along with your back-foot long-ways on the outside of the tail. 2. Your front foot should be close to the middle but towards the inside edge of the board. 3. Then your back foot moves down and under in a circular motion while your front foot is brought up and to the side where the board can't hit it while it's rapping around your back foot. 4. The key is to jump high. Move your front foot and make sure your back foot goes in a circular motion where it's a fluid motion, not like a robot. Hint: It's easier to practice this one-footed by just putting your one foot on the edge of the tail and doing the circular motion i described in thregular impossible.

BACKSIDE LIPSLIDE

1. Come at the obstacle as if you were going to do a backside boardslide. 2. Whem you get to the obstacle Ollie 90 degrees and have your board rest on the curb as if you were doing a front side boardslide. 3. When you want to land it turn your board 90 degrees and roll away with pride.

FRONTSIDE HEELFLIP

This is a trick I learned by just watching people skate. I do it like this........ 1. Place your feet like you would when you do a heelflip. 2. Do a f/s Ollie and about two tenths of the Ollie, do the heelflip 3. Make sure the board and your body spins around.

DARKSLIDE

1. Ride at the object that you want to grind/slide in kickflip position. 2. Turn half of a kickflip and land on the curb or rail in boardslide position with your board upside down. (NOTE) To help keep balance put your feet in the middle of the board and push out on the trucks really hard. 3. Get off and turn your board back to normal

LIPSLIDE

1. go at the object you want to lipslide with a decent amount of speed so when you get on it you'll actually go somewhere. 2. you'll want to approach the object the same way you would if you were going to frontside 50/50 it. 3. olly and then turn 90 degrees so the middle of your board lands on the object. 4. lean back and try to keep your back foot on the tail so it's easier to ride out of. 5. this is kind of tricky at first so take your time and soon you'll be a lipslide master.

POP SHUV IT

1. Place your feet like this. Put your front foot kinda in the middle of the board and your back at the edge of the tail of the board but not off the edge. 2. Do an Ollie, but as you are in the air push your back foot back behind you and push your front foot forward in an inward motion (Like when you pass a soccer ball with the inner part of your foot). 3. Jump in the air as your board spins under you. 4. Catch the board in the air any way you can. 5. Then land it and ride away. 6. Note:Your board should do a complete 180 under you.

HEELFLIP

1. A heelflip is similar to a kickflip but your board spins in the opposite direction. 2. To do a heelflip put half of your foot hanging off of your toe edge of your board. 3. Do an Ollie, and kick your front foot off of the toe edge of the board. 4. The board should start spinning.* 5. Jump up , and try to stay above the board, and land it, then ride away. *If your board does not spin then just practice ollieing with half of your foot on and half off of your toe edge of your board. Then you will start to get the spin for a heelflip the next time you try it. Start with your foot far out, then gradually bring it in.

NOLLIE

1. A nollie is a switch stance fakie Ollie. 2. Just start skating like you normally would, but put your front foot ont he nose of your board and your back foot in the middle of the board. 3. Push down on your front foot then kick out with your back. These take a while to be able to get them high. 4. Just do these every now and then and you will have them down sooner than you think.

HALF CAB

1. Roll forward fakie 2. Pull the backside 180 at a decent height. 3. Half way through do a body varial (Turn frontside) and let the 180 fallow out a shuv-it 4. Try to land it in a nose manual 5. You should be in the Fakie possition, now pop a half-cab back out.

BACKSIDE 180 HEELFLIP

1. Get going at a moderate speed so you do not lose the board when flipping it. 2. Place your feet as you were to do a regular inward flip (Varial Heelflip) 3. Ollie and throw your backfoot away from you and slide the front foot straight down. 4. The board should begin to spin backside and flip like a heelflip if done right. 5. Jump forward and catch the board. (This is very tricky, it took me like 40 straight minutes to get down right)

VARIAL KICKFLIP

1. First start skating slow it is easier to do this move slowly. You must be able to do pop shove it and a kickflip. 2. Place your back foot on the edge of the tail and your front foot like a kickflip but put it closer to the tail you'll get a better spin. 3. Do an Ollie pop shove it as the board spins about 10 degrees start to quickly slide your foot. 4. The board will simultanelesly do a pop shove it and a kickflip it is a cool trick . Try to hover under the board as long as possable. This trick shouldn't take long it's the same height you need to get as a kickflip.

HARDFLIP

1. To do a hard flip place your back foot on the farthest backside of the tail. 2. Pop like a Frontside Flip. 3. Kick off the side like a kick flip. 4. Jump as high as you can and land.

BACKSIDE 180

1. Put your back foot in Ollie position. 2. Ollie up and turn your body right (regular) or left (goofy). 3. 90 degrees is going to be your highest point. 4. Now sweep your back leg around and land. 5. If you fall get right up and try it again until you get it right.

5-0 GRIND

1. Ollie and while in the air,and while you are about to land on the curb obect whatever, pretend you are doing a manual. 2. Then land on the object curb whatever. A tip is practicing Ollie manual first before doing 5-0 grinds When learning 5-0 grinds you should first just Ollie onto a small curb and land in the 5-0 position. Just when doing an Ollie lean back more and you should land on your tail. Just hold that position and let it slide. Do not lean to far back, just try them over and over until you find the right balance.

BACKSIDE TAILSLIDE

1. Being able to do backside ollies helps alot 2. Ride up to the ledge with normal speed 3. Ollie into the ledge moving your front foot inward 90 degrees 4. Keep your upper body straigt like a backside 50-50 5. Tailslide as much as possible try to come out regular Well thats the best way i can explain it if you are consistant with it you will have it down in about a year.

CASTELLARIAL FLIP

1. To do a castellariel flip you must set up like you're going to do a varial flip (or also known as a varial kickflip). 2. Before you do a varial flip start to wind for a body varial. 3. Do the varial flip and do a body varial at the same time. 4. Do the 180 and catch the board while you're in the air. (you and your board are turning different ways) 5. Land and ride away in style

PRESSURE FLIP

1. Skate along at a slow speed. Put your back foot on the tail just at the start of the concave on the toe edge. Your front foot should be in a kickflip position but near the heel edge. 2. Scoop your back foot behind you and slightly toward your front foot. Scoop really hard and make sure your foot follows through. Make sure also your front foot doesn't spin or flip the board. 3. JUMP HIGH in the air 4. Your board should make a very scraping noise. 5. Watch the board under your feet and land when the time is right GOOD LUCK!

INWARD HEELFLIP

1. Place feet in backside heelflip position 2. Pop a shuvit with your back foot 3. When it is at 90 degrees flip the board with your heel (kick your heel forward rather than towards the nose and out) 4. Tuck your legs up high so the board doesnt hit your legs 5. when you see the griptape side up slam your feet down hard over the trucks to prevent slipiing out and falling.

NOSE GRIND

1. It helps to know nose manuals first. 2. Approach the obstical going pretty fast because its hard to do them going slow. 3. Ollie over it like your going to do a 50-50 but lean real far forward like your doing a nose manual. 4. Grind until you get to the end of the obstacle. 5. Once you get to the end of the obstacle you have to lean really far forward and lift the back of the board up so it doesn't hit the end of the box. 6. Balance it out when you land and ride away smooth.

NOLLIE FRONTSIDE 180

1. Place your feet in nollie position but this time point your back foot towards the tail a little. 2. Just before you pop the nose turn your head and shoulders FIRST !! This is very important ! 3. When you pop the board will easily come around due to the initial turning of your torso. 4. Land and ride away.

FRONTSIDE 180

1. To do this put your feet in the Ollie position. 2. Put your back foot on the edge of the board. 3. Put your front foot on the toeside edge of the board (the edge where your toes are) and have like some of your foot hanging off of the edge of the board. 4. Ollie up and turn to your right if you are skating goofy foot/ turn to your left if you are skatin regular. 5. As you are turning swing your arms to your right (goofy) or left (regular) to get the spin going better. 6. Keep on turning till you do a 180 and try to keep the board under you. When you are practicing you will probably not land this until a while because it takes forever to figure out how to land it perfectly. You will probably have the board come out from under you lots of times. 7. If you can get the board to stay under you then try to land it. 8. If you land it you should now be skating switch stance. Another Tip: When you have just learned how to do a 180 and you keep falling backwards when you land it, you can stop that by putting back foot farther up the tail.

MANUAL

1. Get as much speed as you can and go toward the obstacle that your gonna manual on. 2. Put your feet any way you want. I have my front foot in the middle of the board and my back near the tail of the board. 3. Ollie onto the object and shift your weight to the back, then land on your back wheels. 4. When you are on the object keep most of you weight on your back foot. Try to even out the front and back. 5. Keep on riding with your front wheels in the air until you reach the end of the object and just drop off. 6. Note: if you just want to do a manual on flat ground then just do not do the Ollie part. Just put the your weight on your back foot and pop the nose up and just ride like that as long as you can. 7. These can also be done on the front of your board, this is known as a nose manual, just put your weight on your nose, not your tail.

SHUV IT NO COMPLY

1. Roll Up to a parking block. 2. Pop a varial or a shuv-it, which ever you are more comfortable with. 3. Keep your middle foot on the board, but make your front land on the parking block. 4. Try to kinda twist the board with your back foots toe and jump forward. 5. The board and your should do a 180. 6. Land leaning forward so you don't wipe out on the parking block. (These are fun to do off loading docks but slide your front foot off and keep your back foot on the loading ledge.)

FRONTSIDE FLIP

1. Be able to do frontside 180 ollies and kickflips (learn kickflips good until you can land them each time good) 2. Start skating and go up to whatever you want to launch off of or just start skating. 3. As you snap your tail to Ollie, turn your shoulders frontside and start to flip the board. 4. Stop the board from spinning under you and catch the board with the feet. 5. Try to land on your board and start skating again. 6. Try these on banks first, they will be easier on them.

KICKFLIP IMPOSSIBLE

1. Place you feel like you were doing a reg kickflip. 2. Pop the tail and slide your front foot directly down. 3. When your front foot hits the ground jump and push forward with your back foot. 4. Your board should do a Full Back-Flip. 5. Hop with your front foot diagonal to the direction going and your board. 6. Spread your legs until the board is horizontle. 7. Land with your knees heavily bent if going of a drop so you don't crack open the tail like I have done. (Note-I do not recomend this trick going at a fast speed cause you could fall easily)

360 KICKFLIP

1. Place your back foot on the tail of to the edge a little bit* *(if you skate regular, your right foot on the top edge part of the tail, switch is the exact opposite) 2. Place your front foot in a kickflip position 3. Crouch for power*, and snap the tail and kick it hard behind you *(when crouching, if you notice pros they move their front foot back a little bit before they flip it. Its easier that way) 4. Give the board kickflipping action by kicking the board hard, but not to hard as to over-rotate the spin 5. Try and stay above the board and watch it spin underneath you 6. When you see the grip tape, aim your feet towards it and land anyway you can - you can perfect that later

KICKFLIP BODY VARIAL

1. First roll in a confortable distance then put your back foot on the tail and front foot on the edge of the board like you would do a regular kickflip. 2. Then as you hit the tail on to the ground slide your front foot up to the nose. 3. As u hit the nose move your body 180. 4. Not the hard part, always keep an eye on the board when you flip it. Always stay on top of the board. 5. As soon as u see the griptape of your board put your foot down and have balance.

BIGSPIN KICKLIP

1. Ride really fast 2. Put your feet the same as a 360 flip 3. Turn your upper body in a backside 180 and when in 90 degrees pop a 360 flip but dont lose your turning momentum. 4. Land with style * You must have as much momentum as possible when turning 5. Now do it into a nose bluntslide

HALFCAB HEELFLIP

1. Roll at a medium pace 2. Put your feet like you would for a half cab, except put your front foot a little higher. 3. Start your half cab, then kick out like a heelflip (not to hard or else it go way to the side). 4. Turn your body 180 with the board and stay directly above it. 5. Once the grip tape comes back up, catch the board and it and ride away

NOSE SLIDE SHUV IT OUT

1. First, put your feet in the Ollie position, but your front foot a little closer to the nose than for a regular Ollie. 2. Approach the curb fast, with a 45° angle. 3. Pop the tail hard, twist your shoulders as for a frontside 180 and land on the nose. 4. (be sure to put all your weight on your front foot) 5. When you're done with sliding, swip your back foot behind you which will make the board do a shove-it. 6. Stay above the board and land clean.

KICKFLIP UNDERFLIP

What it is, is you do a half of a kickflip, let it rest on your feet up-side down and then flip it back around and land it. Kind of hard but very impressive to judges! 1. Ride in kickflip position. 2. Pop an Ollie and kick down with your front foot and let it slip under the board. 3. At the same time put your back foot under the board as well. 4. By lifting your feet up the board will then flip back over. 5. Land with your knees bent. Note: This is a quick action that requires air, so at first do it off of stuff so you get the time to do it. (Or just do it on ground if you think you can)

CHICAGO FLIP

1. Place your back foot on the tail of to the edge a little bit *(if you skate regular, your right foot on the top edge part of the tail, switch is the exact opposite) 2. When you see the grip tape, aim your feet towards it and land anyway you can - you can perfect that later. 7. at the point where you pop the board, begin a frontside armswing and go for it. You must spin a full 360 and land on the board. Yeah I know, it sounds impossible but just stick with it and you'll have it down in about two weeks.

NOSE GRAB

NOTE: The Nose Grab is a vert move but it could be done on street 1. Put your feet in an Ollie position 2. Keep Your front hand near your front foot so you can grab it 3. Ollie high and grab your nose for a short time unless you have a very high Ollie 4. Let go of the nose and ride away smoothly GOOD LUCK!

BLUNTSIDE

1. Roll towards the obstacle at a good speed and at an angle between 10 and 35 degrees. 2. Snap the tail and pull your front foot up and in as high as it will go. 3. Bring your back foot up with it but as the obstacle comes beneath you, push your back foot down so that you land on the ledge/curb with your tail down and your board pointing close to vertically. 4. On contact, push your back foot forward and lean back. Compensate this lean by keeping your shoulders straight and forward. This should let you slide. 5. Slide 6. As you near the end of your your slide, put a bit of extra weight on your front foot so that the board tilts to less of a vertical angle. This prepares yopu to be able to snap out of this trick. 7. Push your tail down hard and jump away from the obstacle 8. Bring your back foot in as close to your body as it will come and pull up and in with your front foot 9. Push your front foot forward and down whith your ankle 10. Land cleanly and roll away.

NOLLIE BACKSIDE 180

1.First learn nollies and switch F-S 180's and make sure you're good at them. 2.Place your feet in such a position as if you were going to do a nollie. 3. Pop the nollie and at the same time start turning 180. (It's like doing a switch F-S 180 going backwards) 4. Once you have turned 180 degrees land and ride away.

* Indy gripflip *

first u have to go off a ramp then do a half kickflip then rest the nose on your front foot (this all as to be in the shape of the indy), rest the tail on your back foot and just before you land u flip the board over. You can add a power slide to it if you want. this is a hard move im still working on it; i think in 1 or 2 mouths you can get this move.
This move is invented by a visitor of my site : matthew smith coqiulam b.c e-mail [email protected] !!THX TO HIM !!
