The story of a "real" skater chick :) THX u for writing this Shawna!
...................the pictures are following...

hey, i finally have time to write a essay/oppinion/story about how skaterchicks are looked at by people

Skateboarding has come a long ways, its been threw much things, from just riding it 2 takeing it to the extream by doing 360 flips, acid drops from high places, and even just doing kickflips over cans. I first got into skateboarding by my friend Cody. I remember i was sitting down on my friends car, and just watching him do all these neat flips and stuff. So i was like "Oh thats really cool". Then i ended up buying Independent shirts and Van shoes, just because they were cool. I even remember buying my first Volcom shirt because i thought it was cute. Then i realized ((when my skater friends had told me))that the things i had bought were skateboarding brands. And i was like, wow, thats really cool, so they decided to tell me to try to skateboard. So i stept onto the board and pushed off. I went for a little while then stumbled off. After about 20 min.'s i got my balance. And by the next day i was picking up more and more speed with the board. Then i knew i wanted to start to skate. This effected me greatly with my "friends". They turned agianst me when i wanted to start skateboarding, they thought it wasn't right for a girl to skateboard, and they knew people would make fun of me by calling me a poser. But i didn't care, i just wanted to skate. As time pushed on,things got worse, guys said i shouldnt skate because it was a guy thing, i got called a poser, and people looked at me different. But i still didn't care enough to give up the thing i loved most. As i started to get better, things started to get worse. I was the the point where i just wanted to give up, then i learned how to ollie and manuel to a nose manuel, and i thought it was awesome. Things got worse.Another thing that made me mad was, there arn't alot of girls that skateboard, in my school or Pro. wise, and i wanted to actually make a statement saying "hey girls can do this too, its NOT just a guy's sport"same thing with volleyball, some people think its just a girls sport, but guys do it, so why not skateboarding?. Now im where im at, and things are great, well, there not GREAT, but they were better then they were. I get respect from guys now because im pretty okay at skateboarding, and i dont get called a poser by many ((only the ones that i can pick on because they stink at boarding)). Its funny though because i wear Independent, and i wear vans and when i start to talk to a guy about skateboarding there like "You skate?" Is it really that hard to belive that a girl skateboards? Another thing is more girls are starting to board now. which i think is awesome. I have more guy friends then girl friends, but thats not a bad thing. In conclusion, Girls have the same rights as Boys. I think guys should expand there minds more and actually incourage girls to skate. I mainly think the guys dont want chicks to start skateboarding because the girls might actually be better. Keep skateboarding everyone!
